Boston Dynamics engineers are very fond of designing robots. And not banal humanoid and four-legged. Suffice it to recall the “dog” named BigDog and “wild cat” Cheetah.
However, these machines – big and heavy. Suitable not for any work. Therefore, the company came up with the creation of light and brisk on the “name” Spot.
Platform is not afraid of rugged terrain – at the pits and hillocks 72-pound robot runs better than the mentioned “brothers”.
Another invention is movable inside buildings. Spot perfectly oriented in a confined space, not afraid of narrow corridors and deftly “Storm” ladder.
Its massive “relatives” with similar jobs to cope worse.
The device retains great balance and not particularly noisy. The latter is achieved thanks to the electric propulsion system (instead of engines for karts that Boston Dynamics used in the previous experiments).
