Smoke and flames came out of the charging pin during a session of casual gaming. He treats his computer like a synthetic god; there was no reason other than iBuyPower’s low standards for this computer to break in the way it did. He took the charging pin out and was immediately shocked and was burned by melted plastic. Took it to a repair guy who said it was actually toast: the inside was coated in black with warped transistors on the motherboard. He’s had this computer for just over a year, and his warranty ended approx. one week before this happened. He’s also a college kid and can’t afford another computer for quite a while. We called and called and called trying to get some help, but the iBuyPower team said the best they could do was be paid to inspect his computer. They want him to pay for shipping, handling, and replacement for a computer that spontaneously blew up. Not even a measly 5% discount towards a new laptop.
