Publishes such data Canalys. According to the report of the research, in the last quarter of 2013, the manufacturer has put 30.9 million Mac and iPad. It is worth noting that, according to Canalys, a significant advantage over competitors Apple achieved through tablets, not PCs. Thus, the share of total iPad 30 million – 84.3% (26 million gadgets). While the total share of MacBook, iMac, Mac Pro and Mac Mini I want to cry or be sad – selling them reduced from year to year.

The same applies to devices from other manufacturers. 48.3% of the global PC market by the end of the 2013th take tablets. At the same time last year, sales of desktops and laptops fell by 6.9 percentage points, while the Tablet PC sales increased by 65.2%.

Probably for this reason (apparent displacement of one category of goods other) Canalys – a unique team of analysts, classifies the device to a PC. Gartner, IDC and Strategy Analytics, for example, consider only the PC and tablets separately.

At the same time, as noted by Intel, a survey conducted by IDC staff of approximately 4,000 adult residents of the United States, showed that more than 97% of PC users it remains the primary computing device. Moreover, 41% of respondents said that within the next year plan to buy a new PC – desktop or laptop.

In other words, the PC market may begin to recover in the coming quarters. The study showed that the majority of computer users age is not less than four years, which means that soon it will need an update.
